The Archdiocese of Baltimore Saint Carlo Acutis Camping Retreat is open for leaders and members of Youth Outdoor Troops including Scouting America, Trail Life, American Heritage Girls, Girl Scouts, Camp Fire, Troops of Saint George, and Federation of North-American Explorers along with siblings of youth members. For example, a girl in Scouting America may attend with her parents, brothers, and sisters. They may choose to camp as a family. Siblings of members, even though not members themselves, may participate in the retreat activities and events. If no one in your family is a member, please consider joining a troop. You may contact your parish, a local troop, or any retreat staff.
Each individual attending the retreat must be registered by name; adults must be registered by name so that we can verify their youth protection compliance, and youth must be registered by their name so we can personalize their retreat schedule.
Release of Retreat Audiovisual
We may use photography, audio and video recording at this retreat. This registration for the retreat constitutes personal and organizational consent to be photographed, filmed, and/or otherwise recorded and to the release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction of any and all recorded media of your appearance, and voice in connection with this or future retreat, including, by way of example only, use on websites, in social media, news and advertising.
By attending this retreat, all participants, their parents/guardians (if minors), and retreat staff waive and release any claims you may have related to the use of recorded media of you at the event, including, without limitation, any right to inspect or approve the photo, video or audio recording of you, any claims for invasion of privacy, violation of the right of publicity, defamation, and copyright infringement or for any fees for use of such record media.
You understand that all photography, filming and/or recording will be done in reliance on this consent. If you do not agree to the foregoing, please notify retreat staff in writing at [email protected] before the Retreat begins so that your request can be accommodated.
Our retreat complies with the policies stated at Child and Youth Protection - Archdiocese of Baltimore (archbalt.org). Every adult (anyone age 18 and over) present at the retreat includes unit leaders, parents, accompanying adults, priests, instructors, cooks, and support.
Adults who reside in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, must be VIRTUS compliant. VIRTUS compliance consists of a Code of Conduct, Policy Statement, online training (approximately 1 hour), and a background screening. VIRTUS is usually administered by your parish. The compliance process requires approximately a month. Please register early as last year about ten percent who thought they were compliant need to correct records or refresh training. If you have any questions, please contact your parish. Adults who are not Catholic must still obtain a certificate of Virtus compliance through a local Catholic parish. Adults who reside in other than the Archdiocese of Baltimore must provide evidence of having completed their diocese youth protection program.

Regardless of ability to pay, every youth is welcome to participate in Saint Carlo Acutis Camping Retreat! We do not expect any contributions for special needs youth. All retreat attendees must be registered. For those who need financial assistance, please email [email protected] for either a partial or full discount coupon to be used for registration.
The cost of your weekend attendance is $80.00 and Saturday-only is $40.00. The fee schedule below rewards early registration with lower fees but does not cover the total cost. Please register early to help us in planning this retreat. Also please consider donating to cover the total cost of your attendance and, if possible, paying for others who cannot afford to pay for their attendance. Every youth may attend regardless of their ability to pay!
