ARE YOU CALLED TO BE A EUCHARISTIC MISSIONARY?
What is a Eucharistic Missionary?
A Eucharistic Missionary is a Catholic who has had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and is willing to share that experience with others to point them towards Christ’s love, peace, and healing in the Eucharist. Sharing might take place in a faith-centered event (e.g. brief talk at Mass after Communion, RCIA, religious education), a community event (e.g. bingo, concert, county fair booth), or one-to-one in your circle of influence.
What qualifications are necessary to become a Eucharistic Missionary?
Any Catholic with a story of a personal encounter with Christ in the Eucharist is qualified to be a Eucharistic Missionary simply by virtue of their baptism into Christ Jesus. No degree or certificate in theology is necessary. Practical coaching and spiritual support will be provided to Eucharistic Missionaries who commit to being trained.
What commitment am I making in signing up to be a Eucharistic Missionary during this Revival?
In addition to your ongoing commitment to a life of discipleship in Jesus Christ, frequent Mass, and Eucharistic devotion, Eucharistic Missionaries will support one another in small groups that meet every month or so (in person or zoom) for prayer, sharing, and reflection. A retreat day will be offered at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen to hear from a National Eucharistic Preacher and be formally commissioned by the Archbishop. Eucharistic Missionaries are invited to represent the Archdiocese of Baltimore at the National Eucharistic Congress, July 17-21, 2024 in Indianapolis, IN.
